Wedoany.com Report-Feb 27, The Armenian government has recently decided to move ahead with the construction of a new nuclear power plant, a move that is expected to significantly boost the country's energy sector. This decision comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance energy independence and reduce reliance on imports.
According to reports, a new closed joint-stock company has been established to manage the project. The company will be responsible for the capital replenishment of 200 million drams (approximately $511,000), which was initially scheduled for allocation in the fourth quarter of 2025. However, due to the high priority and urgency of this project, the allocation has been shifted to the first quarter of 2025. This adjustment is expected to ensure that the project is launched on time and meets its operational goals.
This move reflects the Armenian government's commitment to modernizing its energy infrastructure and addressing the country's energy needs in a sustainable manner. The decision underscores the government's strategic focus on nuclear energy as a key component of the national development plan.
