Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 22, Air Astana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for up to 50 A320neo-family aircraft, comprising 25 firm orders and 25 purchase options. The agreement, subject to final shareholder approval, represents the airline’s largest single fleet commitment to date.

The order includes a mix of A320neo and A321neo variants, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2031. A substantial portion of the aircraft is expected to be A321LR configurations, which Air Astana has successfully deployed over the past five years to develop medium- and long-haul routes to Europe and Asia.

Peter Foster, CEO of Air Astana, said: “The Airbus A320neo family has proven to be an outstanding success in service with Air Astana over many years and I’m confident that the new fleet will continue to boost sustainable growth and profitability in the long term.”

The transaction will support Air Astana’s continued network expansion and fleet modernisation while enhancing operational efficiency on both regional and extended-range services.
