Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 22, Turkmenistan is advancing measures to increase production capacity at enterprises operated by the State Concern Türkmenhimiýa, as reported during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annamamedov informed the meeting that efforts are under way to strengthen the material and technical base of the Ahal natural-gas-to-gasoline (GTG) plant, a key facility within the sector. The government is also expanding cooperation with leading international companies to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the plant’s technological processes.
Annamamedov presented a set of proposals aimed at ensuring stable operation and raising output across Türkmenhimiýa enterprises. President Berdimuhamedov emphasised the importance of bringing all facilities to their full design capacity, approved the submitted measures, and instructed the deputy prime minister to implement them promptly.
Located in Ahal Province, the GTG plant converts natural gas into high-quality ECO-93 gasoline using Haldor Topsoe’s TIGAS™ technology. Commissioned in June 2019, the facility has an annual production capacity of approximately 600,000 tonnes of gasoline, along with liquefied gas and diesel fuel. The project was developed through collaboration between Turkmengaz State Concern, Japan’s Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Turkey’s Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri.
The ongoing initiatives reflect Turkmenistan’s continued focus on modernising its chemical industry and maximising the utilisation of domestic natural gas resources for value-added petrochemical products.
