Wedoany.com Report-Dec.1, A full container train loaded with 1,000 tonnes of cassava starch left Vientiane South Station on the China-Laos Railway on Saturday, bound for Zhengzhou, Henan Province. The journey is scheduled to take 80 hours and represents the first complete trainload of Lao cassava starch exported to China.
The cassava starch was manufactured at a local processing plant in Laos. China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd., operator of the China-Europe Railway Express services, organised the shipment and supplied comprehensive logistics support, including route planning, container loading schemes, collection and delivery arrangements, documentation, real-time tracking, and emergency coordination.
Laos-China Railway Co., Ltd. (LCRC), which manages the Lao section of the China-Laos Railway, noted that the railway has consistently provided Lao agricultural exporters with sufficient container capacity and dependable transport services since operations began. Cumulative freight volume has now exceeded 16 million tonnes, of which more than 1.7 million tonnes consist of agricultural products delivered to China.
LCRC stated that it will maintain close cooperation with Chinese railway partners to schedule regular freight trains for cassava starch and other farm produce, ensuring a stable, efficient logistics corridor for Lao agricultural exports to China.
