Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 18, BT Group has announced that Greg McCall will succeed Howard Watson as Chief Security and Networks Officer, following Watson’s planned retirement in March 2026 after more than a decade at the company. In his new role, McCall will oversee BT’s next stage of network expansion, aiming to deliver full fibre broadband to 30 million homes, expand 5G coverage to over 90% of the UK, and achieve near-universal 5G+ access by 2030.

McCall joined BT in 2013, holding multiple senior positions where he led the rollout of the UK’s first 5G network, managed the Emergency Services Network, and supervised the rapid launch of BT Sport. His experience in network development and operational leadership positions him to guide BT through its next phase of connectivity growth.

BT CEO Allison Kirkby commented: “I am delighted to appoint Greg as our new chief security and networks officer and a key member of BT’s Executive Committee.
