Wedoany.com Report-Dec.8, ZTE Corporation has deepened its long-standing partnership with Malaysia's Multimedia University (MMU) through a new addendum signed on 3 December 2025 at MMU Cyberjaya. The agreement was exchanged during the closing ceremony of the 2025 PRESTIJ programme "Shaping the Future-fit Public Services with Cybersecurity in the AI Landscape".
The collaboration between ZTE and MMU dates back several years and includes the establishment of 5G end-to-end laboratories in Cyberjaya and Melaka, student scholarships, and MMU's designation as an authorised ZTE Certification training and examination centre covering 5G, AI, cybersecurity, wireless technologies and core networks. In 2023, the parties launched the NexGen Communication Engineering Hub to promote professional skills, research and industry cooperation.
The expanded partnership will provide MMU with ZTE's AiCube AI education and computing platform together with smart classroom solutions. The AiCube system integrates high-performance AI computing with interactive teaching tools, creating a shared facility for MMU students and participants in government training programmes. The platform will serve as a centre for AI and cybersecurity education, applied research and project development.
Gu Junying, Senior Vice President of ZTE, said: "We are honoured to support Malaysia's public service and academic institutions as they build essential digital capabilities. Even as participants complete their programmes today, the journey of learning continues. Technology evolves quickly, and continuous development is vital to building a future-ready workforce.
Professor Dato' Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su'ud, President of MMU, said:MMU welcomes this enhanced collaboration with ZTE. The deployment of the AiCube platform strengthens our ability to train industry-ready graduates and public service leaders, and supports Malaysia's broader digital transformation agenda. This collaboration reinforces MMU's role as a leading institution for technology-driven education, research, and talent development.
The signing followed the successful completion of the second cohort of the ACE upskilling programme, in which ZTE and MMU trained Malaysian government officers in digital and AI technologies during a six-month programme that included study visits to seven cities in China. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Malaysia's digital talent pipeline and support national goals for advanced connectivity, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity readiness.
