Wedoany.com Report-Dec 03, According to partner Panoro Energy, the S-6 well on the Akeng Deep prospect in Block S offshore encountered oil zones in the Upper Albian before reaching a TVD of around 4,030 m.

John Hamilton, CEO of Panoro, said that although the find was not commercial, the results confirm elements of an active petroleum system in this interval and the data has provided insights into the potential of the Lower Cretaceous.

“The well results at S-6 will now be integrated into our subsurface models to refine future exploration and appraisal activities in the basin,” Hamilton said.

At Block G, where Panoro is a partner to operator Trident Energy, first oil flowed from a new Okume infill well in mid-November, with ramp-up operations continuing. The Ceiba infill well on the same block went online in mid-October and is performing above expectations.
