Vietnam Hanoi plans to complete its long-delayed Ring Road No. 2.5 construction project by 2026. The municipal government has approved funding exceeding VND 8.4 trillion, primarily for land clearance and the construction of the remaining sections.
The total length of this road construction project is approximately 19.64 kilometers, stretching from the new urban area of Chi Buoi Tra to the interchange with Ring Road No. 3 near the Thanh Tri Bridge, with a planned width of 40 to 50 meters. Currently, 5 out of the 13 sections (totaling over 11 kilometers) have been completed and opened to traffic, while another 5 sections (totaling over 6 kilometers) are under construction. The current priority is to advance the road construction for the three missing sections. Presently, parts of the project have been built and opened to traffic, with multiple other sections under construction. Municipal officials stated that this ring road plays a crucial role in optimizing the distribution of urban traffic flow.
The project investor is conducting preliminary surveys and design work, while local authorities are simultaneously carrying out public consultations and land inventory checks. According to the plan, the entire road construction project is expected to be fully completed in the fourth quarter of 2026. This ring road is one of the seven ring roads outlined in Hanoi's master plan, and its completion will contribute to improving the city's road network system.
