MTS racked up 75.6 million passenger trips in the fiscal year to June 2024, a 10% rise on the year before.

That’s the highest since the pandemic, which saw ridership plunge by 75%.

However, the system is under financial strain, with revenue down by up to 40% since 2009, and an annual deficit of $120m.

The MTS board recently authorised a study into the first system-wide fare hike since 2009, and another on cutting services.

Jacobs previously completed the agency’s 2023 annual bridge inspections.

“Our team’s expertise and dedication to adhering to industry standards and regulations are key to supporting the region’s transit needs,” said Jacobs project manager Dean Stuart.
