Wedoany.com Report-Mar 15, Peab, a Nordic construction company, has secured a contract from a housing operator to build a new apartment building in Luthagen, Uppsala, Sweden.

Completion is expected by late 2026.

The contract from HSB Uppsala is valued at Skr151m ($14.9m).

Luthagen Strand, phase 2, is stated to be a key component in the area’s development.

The new project will feature a seven-storey building offering 64 apartments, each ranging from one to six rooms alongside a kitchen.

The top floors will comprise two duplex apartments, complete with fireplaces, spiral staircases, and double terraces.

High ceilings will be a characteristic feature throughout the building, with furnishings, including kitchen units, interior doors, and windows tailored to complement this design element.

Under this turnkey contract, Peab will commence construction in early 2025, with the completion of the apartments anticipated by late 2026.

The project will be registered in the company’s order books for the first quarter of 2025.

Peab region manager Fredrik Jihammar said: “We’re proud to have been entrusted with contributing to Luthagen’s growth and development. By building homes that promote sustainability and reduce climate impact we create sustainable homes for communities of the future.”

This development follows Peab’s recent contract wins, including a Skr250m agreement to construct a new swimming pool facility for Götene Municipality in Sweden’s Västerby area.

Last month, meanwhile, Peab secured a Nkr176m contract for the Fagertun housing project in Ulsteinvik, Norway, which involves building 49 apartments across three residential blocks above a shared parking garage.
