Wedoany.com Report-Mar 20, French energy department DGEC has launched a consultation on proposals for the country’s tenth offshore wind call for tenders (AO10).
Officials said feedback would aid preparatory work for the launch of the 9.2GW fixed-bottom and floating wind auction round series “in the coming months”.
Seabed plots are expected to be offered in areas off the country’s eastern North Sea, north-western Atlantic, south Atlantic and south-western Mediterranean coastlines that were identified in separate consultation exercise last year.
8.4GW is scheduled to be awarded with DC connections by the end of 2026.
Views are being sought on whether the 2GW plots should be offered to a single project or divided into smaller projects whose connections would be shared.
The DGEC is also interested in opinions on the plot locations, target commissioning dates and project schedules plus rules to ensure the same bidder does not win every tender.
The consultation closes on 4 April.
