Wedoany.com Report-Jun 26, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and KDDI have announced a collaboration to open the Osaka Sakai Data Center in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan, by early 2026. The facility will support startups and enterprises by providing NVIDIA AI infrastructure for developing AI applications and training large language models (LLMs). The data center will feature a rack-scale system with the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 platform, built by HPE using the advanced NVIDIA Blackwell architecture.

The Osaka Sakai Data Center will utilize hybrid cooling technology, combining air and direct liquid cooling, to minimize environmental impact while maintaining high-performance computing capabilities. This initiative supports the growing demand for AI solutions in Japan and globally, enabling organizations and individuals to develop generative AI models and leverage low-latency inferencing.

KDDI will offer cloud-based AI computing services through its WAKONX platform, designed to accelerate the adoption of AI technologies among businesses and consumers. The data center aims to facilitate the development of trillion-parameter generative AI models, enhancing innovation across various sectors.
