Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 16, The Association of German Cooperatives (DRV) has increased its 2025 grain harvest forecast for Germany to 43.0 million tons, up from 41.7 million tons, marking a 10% rise compared to last year, as reported by Zerno On-Line. The growth is driven by larger sown areas and higher yields.

Wheat production is now estimated at 22.4 million tons, an increase from 21.6 million tons, while corn is projected at 4.6 million tons, up from 4.5 million tons. The barley harvest estimate has been slightly reduced from 10.4 million tons to 10.3 million tons.

July 2025’s heavy rains improved corn yields but impacted the quality of other grains, resulting in regional variations in grain quality. Wheat protein levels are generally higher than in 2024, though they differ across regions.

This updated forecast strengthens Germany’s agricultural output, supporting its role in meeting grain demand for both domestic consumption and international markets.
