Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 28, EdgeConneX, a global data centre provider, has acquired its second data centre in the Greater Osaka and Yawata areas of Japan, significantly boosting its infrastructure capacity. Announced on August 28, 2025, this acquisition will increase the company’s total platform capacity in Japan to 350 MW of utility power, with the new site contributing an additional 150 MW upon completion.

The new facility is designed to support high-density workloads exceeding 600 kW per rack, leveraging EdgeConneX’s Ingenuity product suite, which accommodates advanced deployments from Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. This expansion builds on the company’s first Japanese project, a 200 MW data centre announced in January 2025, set to begin construction in early 2026 and open its first phase by the fourth quarter of 2027.
