Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 29, Canadian miner Troilus Gold has entered into a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Aurubis, a Germany-based copper smelter and recycler, to supply copper-gold concentrate from the Troilus Project in north-central Québec. This agreement formalizes earlier indicative offtake terms announced in June 2025, strengthening the partnership as Troilus progresses toward project financing and development.

The MoA outlines commercial terms for a significant portion of the Troilus Project’s estimated annual production of 75,000 tonnes of copper-gold concentrate. It aligns with Troilus’ efforts to secure a debt financing package of up to $700 million (C$963.35 million), announced in March 2025, to advance the project’s construction phase.
The Troilus Project is positioned as a key supplier of critical minerals to European markets, enhancing Canada’s role in global supply chains. The agreement was signed during Canada’s Critical Minerals Mission to Germany, attended by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Tim Hodgson, and other officials.
Justin Reid, CEO of Troilus Gold, stated: “Signing this agreement with Aurubis during Canada’s Critical Minerals Mission to Germany is highly significant for Troilus. It underscores the international importance of our project, strengthens Canada–Europe cooperation on critical minerals and provides a clear step toward completing the financing required to advance construction.”
Toralf Haag, CEO of Aurubis, said: “This partnership with Troilus Gold is an important step in reinforcing our international raw material sourcing strategy. With high-quality copper concentrates from Canada, we are enhancing the resilience and competitiveness of our portfolio while building a long-term, reliable partnership.”
The agreement supports the Troilus Project’s positive feasibility results and its strategic importance to Canada, Québec, and international partners. By establishing a reliable supply chain for copper-gold concentrate, the partnership contributes to sustainable resource development and strengthens economic ties between Canada and Europe.
This collaboration highlights Troilus Gold’s commitment to advancing the Troilus Project as a cornerstone of critical minerals production, while Aurubis benefits from a stable, high-quality supply to support its recycling and smelting operations.
