Jacobs and HDR to Lead Engineering for New York’s IBX Light-Rail Project

Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 30, Jacobs, in collaboration with HDR, has been selected to provide engineering consultancy for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA) Interborough Express (IBX) light-rail project in New York, USA. The joint venture will focus on design development, including freight integration, tunnel retrofits, and bridge modifications, while also offering strategic guidance on delivery methods and operational preparedness.

The IBX is a new 14-mile transit line designed to connect communities across Brooklyn and Queens, two of New York City’s most populous boroughs. The project aims to enhance mobility by serving densely populated areas, improving access to essential services and businesses.
