Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 24, Baker Hughes has secured a multi-year contract with China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corp. (CPECC), acting on behalf of Aramco, to implement its Cordant™ Asset Performance Management (APM) suite at four Booster Gas Compression Stations in Saudi Arabia. The order was recorded in the second quarter of 2025.
The Cordant APM deployment includes Asset Health, Asset Strategy, and Asset Defect Elimination modules. These AI-enhanced and physics-based tools will provide predictive analytics and prescriptive maintenance recommendations, enabling Aramco to improve equipment reliability, minimise unplanned downtime, extend asset lifespan, and enhance overall operational efficiency and safety.
The four stations form part of Aramco’s Master Gas System (MGS) Expansion Phase 3, which supports the conversion of domestic power plants from oil to natural gas. The initiative aligns with rising energy demand in Saudi Arabia and contributes to Vision 2030 objectives by promoting lower-emission energy supply and eliminating routine flaring.
Aravind Yarlagadda, Senior Vice President of Industrial Solutions, Industrial & Energy Technology at Baker Hughes, stated: “This project is a clear demonstration of how we are supporting our customers on their energy transition journeys in one of the world’s most critical energy regions. By combining our expertise with advanced AI-powered digital technologies like Cordant APM, we aim to help customers like Aramco to enhance asset performance, increase operational resilience, and support progress toward more efficient, lower-carbon operations.”
The contract extends an existing relationship between Baker Hughes and Aramco. Previously, Baker Hughes was awarded a separate order to supply gas technology equipment for the expansion of Saudi Arabia’s largest unconventional gas field.
Through this digital transformation project, Baker Hughes will assist Aramco in integrating advanced performance management capabilities into conventional energy infrastructure, supporting operational excellence while advancing sustainability goals in one of the world’s largest hydrocarbon networks.
