Wedoany.com Report-May 3, OX2 has submitted the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for its Laine offshore wind project to Finnish authorities. The project, located approximately 30 kilometers off Finland’s coast, aims to install up to 150 turbines, capable of producing 11 terawatt-hours of clean electricity each year.
Developed in partnership with Ingka Investments, the Laine project is a significant step toward sustainable energy production. OX2 highlighted that the assessment offered valuable data on previously uncharted marine areas within Finland’s exclusive economic zone. The studies conducted included detailed seafloor mapping and evaluations of potential hydrogen infrastructure.
With Finland’s electricity demand projected to double by 2035, the Laine offshore wind project is poised to contribute significantly to a carbon-neutral and energy-independent future. OX2 emphasized the project’s role in meeting the country’s growing energy needs sustainably.
