The partnership leverages Envision Energy’s expertise in integrated green hydrogen-ammonia solutions and Marubeni’s extensive global network and energy trading capabilities to support large-scale production and commercialization of green ammonia.
Envision Energy stated: “The partnership brings together Envision Energy's leadership in integrated green hydrogen-ammonia solutions with Marubeni's expansive global network and energy trade expertise, facilitating large-scale production, supply, and commercialisation of green ammonia.” This collaboration aims to advance sustainable energy solutions across the region.
The agreement supports the development of the world’s largest commercial green hydrogen-ammonia plant, currently under construction by Envision Energy. The facility combines wind, solar, and storage technologies with hydrogen-ammonia production to optimize costs and enhance environmental sustainability. The initial phase, which began in early 2024, targets an annual output of 300,000 tonnes of green ammonia. Upon completion, the plant is expected to scale up to a total annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes.
This initiative reflects a commitment to meeting the rising demand for clean energy solutions in the Asia Pacific. By integrating renewable energy sources with advanced production processes, the project aims to deliver cost-effective and eco-friendly ammonia, supporting industries seeking sustainable alternatives.
