Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 27, On August 26, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) announced the opening of bidding for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package for a 300 MW grid-connected solar project in the Baran district of Rajasthan, near the NTPC Anta natural gas-fired power station. The initiative supports the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure in India.
The selected bidder will handle land acquisition for the solar facility and oversee all aspects of the project, including design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packaging, transportation, installation, and commissioning. The scope also includes establishing a power evacuation system to connect the solar project to the NTPC Anta substation, along with developing a terminal bay at the substation. Additionally, the bidder will be responsible for operating and maintaining the photovoltaic plant for three years following commissioning.
The bidding process, which outlines the technical and financial requirements for potential contractors, is set to close on August 30. This timeline ensures that interested parties have sufficient opportunity to prepare and submit comprehensive proposals for the project.
Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC, stated: “This solar project near our Anta station is a key step in advancing India’s renewable energy goals, ensuring sustainable and reliable power for the region.”
The 300 MW solar project aligns with NTPC REL’s commitment to expanding clean energy capacity in India. By integrating the solar facility with the existing infrastructure at the NTPC Anta substation, the project optimizes resources and enhances grid reliability. The inclusion of a three-year operation and maintenance period underscores the focus on long-term performance and sustainability.
Located in Rajasthan, a region with abundant solar potential, the project will contribute to the local energy supply while supporting broader environmental objectives. The initiative reflects NTPC REL’s strategy to leverage strategic locations and existing infrastructure to deliver cost-effective renewable energy solutions.
This solar project strengthens Rajasthan’s position as a hub for renewable energy development in India. By combining advanced solar technology with efficient project execution, NTPC REL aims to meet growing energy demands while promoting sustainable practices. The bidding process invites capable partners to contribute to this significant step in India’s clean energy transition.
