Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 28, Critical Metals Corp., listed on Nasdaq as CRML, has entered a 10-year offtake agreement to supply heavy rare earth concentrate to Ucore Rare Metals’ processing facility in the United States. The agreement, announced in August 2025, involves supplying up to 10,000 metric tons annually from the Tanbreez project in Greenland, one of the world’s largest rare earth deposits.

The deal connects the Tanbreez project with Ucore’s Department of Defense-funded processing facility in Alexandria, Louisiana, and its site in Kingston, Ontario. The concentrate will serve as feedstock for producing high-purity rare earth oxides, essential for advanced technology and defense applications. Ucore’s Louisiana facility, which began construction in May 2025, aims to produce 2,000 tonnes per annum of high-purity rare earth oxides in 2026, with plans to scale up to 7,500 tonnes by 2028.
Ucore CEO Pat Ryan stated: “Critical Metals Corp’s Tanbreez offers tremendous opportunities for Ucore given the significant concentration of heavy rare earths it contains, which are essential for our processing facility in Louisiana, and our downstream partners.” The partnership supports efforts to build a robust supply chain for critical minerals in the U.S., reducing reliance on foreign sources.
Critical Metals CEO Tony Sage added: “Securing this offtake provides Critical Metals Corp both with our first buyer and the flexibility to supply other US based rare earth facilities in the future, given the immense size of our Tanbreez deposit.” The agreement positions Critical Metals to meet growing demand for rare earths while supporting U.S. industrial needs.
The deal was facilitated by GreenMet, a Washington-based advisory firm specializing in critical minerals. GreenMet CEO Drew Horn commented: “This agreement is a landmark achievement and a powerful example of strategic partnerships building a resilient, domestic supply chain.” The collaboration enhances the U.S.’s capacity to produce critical materials domestically, supporting both economic and industrial objectives.
The Tanbreez project’s concentrate will undergo hydro-metallurgical processing to produce high-purity oxides, strengthening the supply chain for advanced technologies. The initiative aligns with efforts to meet increasing demand for rare earths, driven by applications in electronics, renewable energy, and defense. By leveraging the Tanbreez deposit’s vast resources, Critical Metals and Ucore aim to contribute to a sustainable and secure supply of critical minerals.
This agreement marks a significant step in advancing North America’s rare earth industry, fostering collaboration between key stakeholders to ensure reliable access to essential materials for high-tech and defense sectors.
