In Tashkent, Sherzod Shermatov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, met with representatives from Amazon Kuiper Commercial Services LLC to discuss opportunities for advancing digital infrastructure and broadband connectivity. Following the meeting, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their commitment to this partnership.

The agreement outlines plans to leverage Amazon’s Project Kuiper, a network of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites designed to deliver global broadband internet. “Uzbekistan expects to gain access to the satellite internet service of U.S. Amazon Kuiper,” the press service of the Digital Technologies Ministry stated, emphasizing the potential for improved connectivity to support economic and social development.
