Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 13, Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corp., through its Indian subsidiary Toshiba JSW Power Systems Pvt. Ltd., has entered into an agreement with NTPC Ltd., India’s state-owned power producer, to deliver a centralized monitoring system for 165 thermal and renewable power plants. These facilities, managed by NTPC and its joint ventures, include both operational and planned projects across India.

This contract marks NTPC’s first implementation of a unified platform to oversee its power generation assets. The system, set to commence operations in 2027, will integrate Toshiba’s EtaPRO software, which currently supports 763 GW of generation capacity in over 60 countries worldwide.

The monitoring system leverages artificial intelligence to analyze real-time data from plant sensors, enabling early identification of equipment irregularities and detailed root cause analysis to prevent operational disruptions. It also automates maintenance planning and execution, minimizing both the frequency and duration of facility downtimes. Over time, the system will use accumulated data to enhance the accuracy of anomaly predictions and optimize maintenance processes, improving overall plant efficiency.

A Toshiba representative stated: “The system employs artificial intelligence to assess real-time operational data from plant sensors, enabling early detection of equipment anomalies and root cause analysis to prevent outages.” This highlights the technology’s capability to support reliable and efficient power generation.
