Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 15, Thor Explorations, a mining company, has announced encouraging results from its initial drilling campaign at the fully owned Guitry gold project in Côte d’Ivoire. The company completed 4,604 meters of reverse circulation drilling since August 2025 to study the geological factors and structure influencing gold mineralization in the region.
Thor Explorations plans further exploration to advance resource definition and identify new mineralisation.
Recent assay results from the drilling program revealed notable gold findings. Key intercepts include 6 meters at 9.63 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 89 meters in drill-hole GURC25-246, 7 meters at 1.5 g/t gold from 72 meters in drill-hole GURC25-240, and 14 meters at 1.3 g/t gold from 57 meters in drill-hole GURC25-247. These results confirm the presence of significant gold deposits, advancing the project’s potential.
Thor Explorations plans to expand exploration efforts to further define resources and identify additional mineralization. The next phase includes systematic infill and step-out drilling, investigating untested and partially tested geochemical anomalies, and conducting generative geochemical surveys. A permit-wide auger drilling campaign is also scheduled to assess previously identified soil anomalies.
CEO and President Segun Lawson stated: “We are pleased to report continued positive drilling results from Côte d’Ivoire, completing a successful maiden drilling campaign in country. When acquired, the Guitry project featured several gold-in-soil geochemical anomalies that previous explorers had only partially tested with shallow drilling. This drilling campaign has intersected and confirmed previously untested deeper bedrock mineralisation, which remains open.”
Lawson added: “In the final quarter of the year, once the rainy season is over, we have planned further step-out drilling programmes that will be designed to grow the potential resource inventory at Guitry.”
Côte d’Ivoire is a prominent gold mining and exploration region in West Africa, hosting over 30% of the area’s greenstone belts and gaining recognition for significant gold discoveries. Lawson noted: “Côte d’Ivoire is a leading West African gold mining and exploration region, hosting over 30% of the area’s greenstone belts and emerging as a site for world-class gold discoveries. We are excited to be returning to the field shortly, when we will also be carrying out our maiden drilling campaign on our Marahui permit.”
In September 2025, Thor Explorations acquired full interest in the Guitry gold exploration project from Endeavour Mining, strengthening its position in the region. The company’s ongoing efforts aim to enhance the project’s resource potential, contributing to the development of Côte d’Ivoire’s gold mining sector.
