Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 16, SK Enmove, the lubricant manufacturing division of SK Innovation, announced on Thursday, October 16, 2025, a new joint venture with Gabriel India, a subsidiary of the Indian automotive components manufacturer Anand Group. The agreement was signed to establish SK Enmove Gabriel India, aimed at strengthening their presence in India’s automotive sector.

SK Enmove will hold a 51% stake in the joint venture, while Gabriel India will own the remaining 49%. The new entity, set to be established in December 2025, will focus on expanding its sales network and promoting its brand in India, the world’s third-largest automobile market with a population of 1.42 billion.
SK Enmove stated: “The joint venture will work to strengthen its sales network and market the brand. Following its establishment in December, the new company plans to offer a range of products from engine oil and industrial lubricants to specialized lubricants for electric vehicles.”
The partnership leverages Anand Group’s extensive experience, which includes 13 joint ventures with global firms like HL Holdings and Henkel, creating robust sales networks across India. By combining SK Enmove’s high-quality lubricants and technical expertise with Anand Group’s market reach, the joint venture aims to capture the premium segment of the Indian automotive lubricant market.
According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), India produced 5.1 million passenger vehicles, 24.3 million two-wheelers, and 1.1 million commercial vehicles last year. SIAM projects an average annual growth rate of over 4% for India’s vehicle market over the next five years, driven by increasing demand and industrial expansion.
The joint venture positions SK Enmove Gabriel India to meet the rising need for advanced lubricants, particularly for electric vehicles, which require specialized products to support performance and efficiency. This aligns with India’s growing automotive industry and its shift toward sustainable technologies.
Headquartered in India, the new entity will benefit from Anand Group’s established distribution channels and SK Enmove’s innovative product portfolio. This collaboration is expected to enhance market penetration and provide tailored solutions for Indian consumers and industries.
