Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 20, Embraer has inaugurated the new India office of its wholly owned subsidiary at WorldMark 4, Aerocity, New Delhi. The opening marks a milestone in Embraer’s two-decade presence in India and reflects its goal of expanding across all major business segments, including commercial aviation, defense, business aviation, services and support, and urban air mobility (UAM).

The new office will serve as the company’s central hub in India, building capacity to capture opportunities within the country’s growing aerospace and defense sectors. Embraer plans to expand teams in corporate, procurement, supply chain, and engineering functions. The move demonstrates the company’s long-term vision to enhance its local presence and collaborate with Indian partners in line with the Make in India initiative and the nation’s pursuit of greater self-reliance in advanced technologies.

Embraer’s relationship with India began nearly 20 years ago, with the introduction of its E-Jets in 2005 that helped expand regional connectivity. Currently, about 50 Embraer aircraft of 11 different types are in operation in India, serving the Indian Air Force, other government agencies, business jet operators, and commercial airline Star Air. The new corporate office highlights a renewed and expanded partnership with India.

Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer, said: “The opening of our New Delhi corporate office marks a bold new chapter for Embraer in India – a market central to our global vision. This office spans across all our business units and will strengthen collaboration with partners, customers, and suppliers. We are committed to bringing world-class technology and innovation to support India’s aerospace growth, advance self-reliance, and help realize its ambition of becoming a global aviation hub.”

Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, said during the inauguration: “Our office inauguration here in New Delhi reflects our ambition for further growth in the country. Our aircraft have earned a reputation for performance and reliability, and we are confident that our multi-mission medium transport aircraft, the C-390 Millennium, is perfectly suited to bring additional capabilities to the Indian Air Force.”

The launch also emphasizes closer cooperation between India and Brazil, highlighting a shared commitment to partnership and industrial collaboration. Embraer’s growing presence in the region will allow deeper engagement with Indian customers, suppliers, and government stakeholders.

Embraer’s activities in India span multiple sectors. In defense, its ERJ145 platform forms the base of the Indian Air Force’s “Netra” AEW&C aircraft, while the Legacy 600 supports transportation for government officials and VIPs under the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Border Security Force (BSF). The C-390 Millennium is being positioned as a strong candidate for India’s Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) program.

In commercial aviation, Embraer’s E-Jets are helping open new air routes in tier-two and tier-three cities, enhancing regional connectivity and contributing to India’s goal of becoming a global aviation hub. Star Air, which operates E175 and ERJ145 aircraft, continues to expand its network.

Eve Air Mobility, an Embraer-backed company, is also entering the Indian market through partnerships that support the development of sustainable air transport. These include collaborations with JetSetGo on Urban Air Traffic Management software and with Hunch Mobility to explore electric commuter flights in Bangalore, aiming to make it India’s first city for urban air mobility using eVTOLs.
