Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 20, Carolina Renewable Products (CRP), a clean energy company, announced on October 7 that it will establish operations in Orangeburg County, South Carolina. The company plans to invest $280 million in the project, which is expected to create 155 new jobs.
CRP specializes in converting sustainable wood biomass into renewable diesel, biochar, and wood vinegar. Its modular and cost-effective design aims to deliver low-carbon fuel solutions while supporting local forestry and agriculture industries. The newly purchased site, located at 546 Prosperity Drive in Orangeburg, will serve as both a next-generation biomass-to-renewable diesel facility and the company’s headquarters and training hub. Operations are scheduled to begin in late 2026.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits associated with the project. In addition, the council awarded a $750,000 Closing Fund grant to Orangeburg County to support site preparation and construction costs.
