Overactive Bladder (OAB) is defined by the International Continence Society as a syndrome characterized by urgency, usually accompanied by frequency and nocturia, with or without urge urinary incontinence. Surveys show that in China, the prevalence of OAB among adults aged 40 and above has reached 21.4% in men and 26.4% in women, with many patients still not receiving effective treatment. The sacral nerve stimulation system (acraStim) delivers short-pulse stimulation currents to the sacral nerve (S3) pathway, exerting excitatory and inhibitory effects that suppress the transmission of sensory signals from interneurons to the pontine micturition center in the brain. This mechanism inhibits involuntary micturition, thereby achieving therapeutic effects for overactive bladder.
