VTG Rail UK has signed a ten-year leasing agreement with Alvance British Aluminium, a company in the aluminium manufacturing sector. Starting in January 2025, the agreement includes the lease of 20 JPA powder tank wagons, enabling the transport of alumina powder from The Port of Blyth in Northumberland to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.

The wagons are scheduled to enter service in June 2025, supporting Alvance’s aluminium production operations at its facility, known for its focus on environmentally friendly metal production.

The leasing arrangement also includes a maintenance contract to ensure the ongoing reliability of the wagons as they integrate into Alvance’s supply chain.
