Wedoany.com Report-Jun 22, New South Wales has committed A$115.5 million to develop the Newcastle Logistics Precinct, a facility designed to support renewable energy projects across the state. The precinct will be located adjacent to the Port of Newcastle, on the site previously occupied by BHP Steelwork’s Intertrade Site.
The hub will serve as a portside storage facility for essential equipment, such as wind turbines and transformers, required for constructing renewable energy infrastructure throughout New South Wales. EnergyCo is collaborating closely with the Port of Newcastle to advance the project’s development.
The initiative remains subject to planning and environmental approvals, including the preparation of an environmental impact statement and a public exhibition period to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
The Newcastle Logistics Precinct is expected to enhance the state’s capacity to deliver renewable energy projects efficiently, contributing to the region’s sustainable energy goals by streamlining the supply chain for critical renewable energy components.
