Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 31, Jakson Engineers, a subsidiary of Jakson Group, has announced plans to invest more than INR 80 billion to establish a 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility at Maksi Phase II in Madhya Pradesh. The plant will cover the production of solar modules, cells, and wafers, supporting India’s renewable energy development.

The project will be executed in two phases across a 110-acre site recently allocated to the company. Site preparation is scheduled to start within 15 days. In Phase I, Jakson will set up 3 GW of solar modules and 3 GW of solar cells, with an investment of around INR 20 billion. Phase II will add a 6 GW wafer facility along with an additional 3 GW of modules and 3 GW of cells, requiring more than INR 60 billion in investment.

The company expects to roll out its first solar modules from the plant by May 2026, with solar cell production beginning in September 2026.

Sundeep Gupta, vice chairman of Jakson Group, stated: “This is a momentous occasion for our company and a major leap forward for India’s renewable energy sector. Our investment in Maksi is testament to our unwavering commitment to ‘Make in India’ and directly supports the nation’s ambitious clean energy targets. We are confident that with the support of the Madhya Pradesh government, this plant will become a beacon of technological excellence and a catalyst for creating green jobs.”

Gagan Chanana, joint managing director and CEO of Jakson Solar Modules and Cells, highlighted the growing international demand for solar energy. He said the company’s integrated “four-in-one” model—covering wafers, cells, and modules—will help meet domestic energy needs, reduce costs, accelerate technology adoption, and contribute to energy security.

Madhya Pradesh was selected as the project site due to its central location, developed infrastructure, supportive investment climate, and renewable energy policies. The initiative is expected to generate significant employment, with more than 1,000 jobs during construction and approximately 1,400 permanent roles once operations begin.

The Maksi facility represents a large-scale investment in India’s solar manufacturing capability and is designed to strengthen local supply chains, foster innovation, and support the transition to cleaner energy. Through phased development and integration across the solar value chain, Jakson aims to align its operations with both national energy goals and global sustainability trends.

This investment marks one of the largest renewable energy manufacturing commitments in Madhya Pradesh to date, positioning the state as an emerging hub for solar technology. With its scale and integration, the project is expected to play a role in boosting India’s renewable capacity while offering economic and employment benefits to the region.
