In Texas, the leading oil-producing state, production rose by 11,000 bpd to 5.72 million bpd, marking the highest level since April 2025. New Mexico, the second-largest producer, saw a more significant increase, with output climbing 40,000 bpd to 2.24 million bpd, the highest since March 2025. The federal offshore Gulf region also contributed to the record, with production rising by 67,000 bpd to 1.92 million bpd, the highest since October 2023, as reported by the EIA.
Demand for crude oil and petroleum products, measured by product supplied, surged by 684,000 bpd in June to reach 21 million bpd, the highest level since October 2024. Gasoline demand increased by 205,000 bpd to 9.23 million bpd, the strongest since July 2024. Jet fuel demand also rose, gaining 84,000 bpd to hit 1.85 million bpd, the highest since August 2018.
Natural gas production in the lower 48 states set a new record in June 2025, reaching 120.7 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd), up from 120.2 bcfd in May, according to the EIA’s 914 production report. This surpassed the previous record of 120.5 bcfd set in March 2025. In Texas, natural gas output increased by 0.7% to 36.8 bcfd, while Pennsylvania saw a 1% rise to 21.5 bcfd.
The data reflects robust growth in U.S. energy production and consumption, driven by increased output in key regions and rising demand for petroleum products, particularly in the transportation sector.
