Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 12, Hydrom, an organization advancing Oman’s green hydrogen initiatives, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the H2Global Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to fostering a global market for clean hydrogen and low-emission fuels. The agreement aims to explore how H2Global’s market mechanisms can support Oman’s national hydrogen strategy.

The collaboration focuses on assessing ways to develop competitive hydrogen projects, promote international trade in clean fuels, and establish Oman as a key hub for clean hydrogen production. By leveraging H2Global’s expertise, Oman seeks to enhance its infrastructure and secure reliable markets for its hydrogen output.

“This MoU represents a milestone in our joint efforts to unlock the potential of clean hydrogen. Oman can combine its ambitious hydrogen roadmap with H2Global’s proven market model to create price signals and secure offtake,” said Markus Exenberger, Executive Director at the H2Global Foundation.

“Oman’s approach to hydrogen is built on clear structures, long-term vision, and credible delivery. Exploring models like H2Global allows us to test and refine our own systems, ensuring that as global mechanisms evolve, they remain interoperable with what we are building,” said Abdulaziz Al Shidhani, Managing Director at Hydrom.

Oman aims to become a leading global exporter of renewable hydrogen and its derivatives by 2030, utilizing its abundant solar and wind resources to produce cost-competitive clean energy. The partnership with H2Global supports this goal by facilitating efficient and transparent trade through a double-auction mechanism, designed to accelerate the global energy transition.

The MoU reflects a shared commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions. H2Global’s market-based approach helps create stable demand and pricing for clean hydrogen, while Hydrom’s strategy focuses on building robust production capabilities. Together, they aim to strengthen Oman’s position in the global clean energy market.

This collaboration aligns with broader efforts to meet rising demand for low-emission fuels. By integrating innovative trade models, Oman can enhance its energy infrastructure and attract international investment, fostering economic growth and environmental sustainability.

The partnership also underscores the importance of global cooperation in developing clean energy markets. As Oman expands its hydrogen production, working with organizations like H2Global ensures alignment with international standards, enhancing interoperability and market access.

This initiative positions Oman as a forward-thinking player in the clean energy sector, leveraging its natural resources and strategic vision to contribute to global sustainability goals. The collaboration with H2Global marks a significant step toward realizing Oman’s ambitions in the renewable hydrogen industry.
