Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 17, EHang has officially launched its new-generation long-range pilotless electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, the “VT35”. Building upon the foundation of the earlier VT30 prototype, the VT35 is an upgraded lift-and-cruise model designed for medium- to long-range operations, including intercity, cross-sea, and cross-mountain routes. With autonomous flight capability, point-to-point efficiency, and environmentally friendly electric propulsion, the VT35 is expected to play a key role in advancing the low-altitude aerial mobility ecosystem from urban to intercity corridors. The launch also signifies a major expansion of EHang’s product line and represents an important milestone for China’s intelligent manufacturing in the global eVTOL sector.
EHang announced that the official domestic market price of the VT35 standard version is set at RMB 6.5 million. Following extensive preliminary design validation and R&D testing, the VT35 has completed its transition flight test, marking a crucial milestone in its technical progress. A video of the flight was presented at the launch event.
The VT35 adopts a tandem-wing layout and a two-seat configuration. It is powered by eight distributed lift propellers for vertical take-off and landing, and transitions to a pusher propeller and fixed wings during cruise flight. With a fully loaded design range of around 200 kilometers, the VT35 offers both extended range and compact flexibility. Compared with its predecessor, the VT30, the VT35 delivers higher aerodynamic efficiency and flight stability while achieving a more compact form—approximately 8 meters in both length and wingspan, and 3 meters in height, with a maximum takeoff weight of 950 kilograms. The compact structure enhances safety during ground operations and improves cost efficiency.
The VT35 is compatible with existing EH216-S vertiports and can utilize various urban takeoff and landing sites, such as parks, rooftops, and parking lots. This interoperability increases infrastructure efficiency and supports seamless intercity air mobility directly between city centers.
Leveraging EHang’s technological expertise in autonomous flight systems, fleet management, and full-redundancy design, the VT35 is supported by a comprehensive command-and-control system, standardized vertiports, and charging infrastructure. It can operate autonomously and enable coordinated fleet operations along pre-set routes. The aircraft is also equipped with advanced obstacle detection and avoidance technology, ensuring a high level of operational safety.
According to EHang, the VT35 is designed to make intercity air travel safe, routine, and efficient, offering an innovative approach to spatial mobility. By integrating advanced automation, efficient energy use, and compatibility with existing infrastructure, the VT35 is positioned to enhance connectivity, improve accessibility across regions, and unlock new opportunities in the growing low-altitude economy.
