Wedoany.com Report-Dec.5, DP World has expanded its global freight forwarding network with the opening of new offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden, scheduled for February 2026. The move will link Swedish importers and exporters directly to DP World's worldwide logistics system, which spans 180 business units in 70 countries.
The Swedish facilities will focus on trade corridors connecting Sweden with major DP World markets across the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. Local support comes from long-established partners, including DP World-owned Foodtankers – which recently marked 70 years of operations in Sweden – as well as Business Sweden (the Swedish Trade and Invest Council), regional warehousing providers, and last-mile delivery specialists.
Both offices will adopt DP World's digital Cargoes platform to enhance Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) connectivity and simplify customs processes for Swedish customers.
Stephen Whittingham, Executive Vice President – North Europe, DP World, said: "Our new operation in Sweden will connect businesses across the country with our global network, create new jobs, and continue DP World’s investment in sustainable, technology-driven logistics. Sweden's culture of innovation, collaboration and sustainability makes it a natural partner for DP World's next chapter in the Nordics, and we are looking forward to becoming a trusted partner to Swedish industry leaders across the automotive, technology, manufacturing, and retail sectors."
Bojan Knightly, Country Manager – Sweden, DP World, added: “By establishing DP World in Stockholm and Gothenburg, we're aiming to give regional customers a simpler, faster and more transparent way to move goods around the world and connect to the global market. We are very excited with this announcement and look forward to further growth in Sweden and the wider region as we continue to scale up our operations in the Nordics.”
The Swedish expansion follows DP World's recent €230 million ($266 million) investment in Antwerp, set for completion in 2026, which will increase terminal capacity by 30 per cent and reinforce the port's position as one of Europe's premier integrated logistics hubs.
