Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 27, Taihan Cable & Solution Co., South Korea’s second-largest cable manufacturer, announced on Tuesday that it has secured two significant contracts in Qatar, totaling 220 billion won (approximately US$158 million). These projects strengthen the company’s presence in the Middle Eastern market.

The first contract, valued at 180 billion won, was awarded by Qatar’s state-operated water and electricity provider, Kahramaa. This project involves expanding Qatar’s power transmission network under a turnkey arrangement, ensuring comprehensive delivery of infrastructure improvements. The initiative aims to enhance the reliability and capacity of the country’s electricity supply to meet growing demand.

Additionally, Taihan secured a 40 billion-won contract earlier this month to develop a high-voltage power grid in Qatar. This project focuses on addressing the nation’s increasing energy needs by establishing a robust and efficient electricity distribution system. Both contracts highlight Taihan’s expertise in delivering advanced power infrastructure solutions.

Since 2008, Taihan has collaborated with Kahramaa on multiple initiatives, demonstrating its ability to compete effectively with international firms. The company’s consistent involvement in Qatar’s energy sector underscores its reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.

The company outlined its future plans, stating: “As demand for power infrastructure continues to grow throughout the Middle East, including Qatar, the company will expand its business portfolio to cover high-voltage direct current cable systems and submarine cable projects.” This strategic focus aims to address the region’s evolving energy requirements with innovative and sustainable solutions.

These contracts reflect Qatar’s ongoing efforts to modernize its energy infrastructure and Taihan’s role as a key partner in supporting these developments.
